10 crucial things to include in your CV

We all know that first impressions count, in this case, impressing your potential future employer is of the utmost importance.
Often, people apply for a position, without updating their CV or giving the process much thought. Mistake! This is (basically) the reason you are still unemployed, friend.
You’re your own worst enemy.
Follow these 10 points and be sure to get a call-back, and soon...
1. According to bbc.com, potential employers can easily discern between a generic CV and one that comes with great effort. So make sure you constantly edit and update your CV according to the job and department/company you are applying for.
2. Keep your CV concise with just enough of the important information. Keep it to two pages.
3. Always, but always include a cover letter to give potential employers a sense of who you are and how you would fit into their work environment and company culture. Then remember to tailor this letter each and every time you apply for a new job, says The Guardian.
4. Don’t forget the basics: personal contact details, education, qualification, experience and references. Sometimes, it’s all in the details.
5. Every potential employer would prefer a presentable, neat and professional CV according to theNational careers service. There are different formats to choose from, but we say simple is always the best. And please, don’t go too colourful. Oh, and don’t ever apply using a selfie as your ID picture.
6. Double check before you press send, eliminate any spelling or grammatical errors. That is the main sign of professionalism. Get. It. Right.
7. The Guardian stresses that one should understand the job description clearly before applying.  Clearly present your skills that match the requirements, and fill in the blanks with related and transferrable skills while upholding your honesty and integrity.
8. Include interests that are useful for the job in active language, for example: "I enjoy working in a team/ have excellent leadership skills" - and rather leave out irrelevant hobbies.
9. Make sure you are qualified for the job. Jobs.ac.uk noted that before you send out your CV, you should make sure it matches your interests, qualifications and skills. Otherwise, it’s just a big waste of time for everyone involved.
10. Always keep a compressed copy of your CV says studentbeans.com: some recruiters will ask for a shorter and more summarised version. Therefore, take your most important information and get straight to the point, keeping to one page.

Pep wins possession battle, Messi the war

Barcelona - Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola had predicted there was nothing he could do to contain the sublime talent of Lionel Messi during their Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on Wednesday -- and he was proved right.
Bayern had 53 percent of possession in their 3-0 first leg defeat which meant that for the first time in more than eight years Barcelona had less of the ball in a Champions League clash.
Barca are renowned for their passing football based around controlling the game in the middle of the pitch and they had gone 96 games since December 2006 boasting a higher percentage of possession than their opponents.
Now Guardiola, who was at the helm of the Catalan side from 2008 to 2012, has instilled a similar approach at Bayern.
"We wanted to keep the ball, that they (Barca) were forced backwards, and that they had to run more," Guardiola told a news conference.
"When you have three in defence you need to dominate and we didn't. Then with four we were more solid and Barca had fewer chances.
"It is not easy against Barca, we were able to stop them having the ball for spells but then at 1-0 we lost our way."
It was an emotional return for Guardiola to Barcelona where he was an iconic figure as a player and then as a coach. He oversaw a golden spell in the club's history when the club picked up 14 trophies out of a possible 19.
Following the departure of Guardiola, Barca's football started to become more predictable and they were guilty at times of holding on to the ball for too long.
Luis Enrique's arrival this season heralded a more direct and exciting style of play that has once again allowed Messi to flourish.
The Argentine unlocked the Bayern defence with some dazzling footwork in the final 15 minutes before Neymar completed the victory.
Before the match Guardiola had admitted that his team would be powerless to stop Messi on the ball and he reinforced this view afterwards.
"You need to make sure that he is not involved in the play and doesn't have the ball because when he does then there is nothing that you can do," he said.
"But Barca have other great players and they are a very solid team."

Princess Charlotte's birth registered shortly after meeting the Queen

Los Angeles - Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have registered the birth of Princess Charlotte.
The couple announced the news on Kensington Palace's official Twitter account, just three days after the tot was born at St Mary's Hospital in London on Saturday.
A statement from Kensington Palace read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have formally registered the birth of Princess Charlotte. The Duke of Cambridge signed the birth register at Kensington Palace this afternoon, witnessed by a Registrar from Westminster Register Office."
In a snap of the form posted on the social networking site, details of her parents have been filled in by 32-year-old Prince William.
The princess - whose parents announced they had decided to name her Charlotte Elizabeth Diana on Monday - is now fourth in line for the throne, after her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William, and older brother, 21-month-old Prince George.
The registration of her birth comes after she was introduced to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Kensington Palace on Tuesday.
On Sunday, the Duke and Duchess thanked people for their well-wishes, admitting it meant a "great deal to them" to have received such a positive reaction to their second child's birth.
A statement read: "The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world.
"It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter."

Is Miley Cyrus bisexual?!

Los Angeles - Miley Cyrus says not all of her relationships have been "straight, heterosexual."
The 22-year-old singer - who recently split from Patrick Schwarzenegger and was once engaged to Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth - hinted she might be bisexual while launching her new Happy Hippie Foundation to help homeless and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) youth.
The We Can't Stop singer didn't elaborate on her comment, according to The Washington Post, but hopes to use her provocative image to promote more important issues in the future.
She said: "No one should have to hide who they really are, no matter what his or her name, gender or status. That's why Happy Hippies are here to say that every life is valuable!
"The position I'm in, I feel like I've got a lot of power. But so many kids don't feel that way. They're under their parents' rule.
"When you have all eyes on you, what are you saying? And that's what I had to ask myself a lot. It's like, I know you're going to look at me more if my (breasts) are out, so look at me. And then I'm going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you."
Miley also admits she struggled with traditional gender expectations when she was younger.
She told Out magazine: "I didn't want to be a boy. I kind of wanted to be nothing. I don't relate to what people would say defines a girl or a boy, and I think that's what I had to understand: Being a girl isn't what I hate, it's the box that I get put into."

Buhari a better evil than Jonathan- Soyinka

Lagos - Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has
described the election of Muhammadu Buhari has a better
option among two evils, reports Thisday.
Delivering a lecture titled, “Predicting Nigeria, Electoral
Ironies”, at the Harvard University Hutchins Centre for
African & African American Research, in Cambridge,
Massachusetts, USA, Soyinka said the outcome of the
March 28 presidential election was a stark choice between
a failed president and a former military dictator.

He noted that it was a painful decision to tell people to
vote Buhari, but the country needed a new beginning,
saying he was more against Jonathan, than he was pro-
Buhari.
He stated 2015 elections offered Nigerians an opportunity
to halt the nation’s descent into anarchy, adding that four
more years of Jonathan would have seen Nigeria plummet
further as the crawling giant of Africa.

Sydney - An Australian man was on Monday jailed for 18
months on animal cruelty charges after bludgeoning to death
nine puppies with a brick while high on methamphetamine,
commonly known as ice.
Nathan Thompson, aged 25, pleaded guilty to the horrific
deaths at Kurri Kurri, 150km north of Sydney, in March,
with one witness describing the scene as "a massacre".
Only one puppy from the group survived, now named
"Lucky".
The puppies were initially offered for sale on the Internet by
their owner, the court heard. When no one bought them, he
took them to Thompson who had previously had success in
selling dogs.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose sacks Ekiti permanent secretary, Tunde Alokan.

A Permanent Secretary in the Ekiti State Civil Service,
Mr. Tunde Alokan, has been sacked by Governor
Ayodele Fayose, it was learnt on Monday.
Alokan, until his removal, was the Permanent Secretary in
charge of the Office of Establishment.
Although there was no official statement from the
government
confirming the sacking on Monday, a source said Alokan
was relieved of his job because of his alleged closeness to
former governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
It was learnt that Fayemi attended the burial of his late
father held in Efon Alaaye in February, which the source
said did not go down well with the powers that be in the
state.
Fayemi appointed Alokan as permanent secretary in
January 2012.
Another Government House source explained that
Alokan's elder brother, Tokunbo, who is a Director (Level
16) is also on his way out of the civil service.
His predicament was also linked to Fayemi's appearance at
their father's burial.
A source said, "After the burial, the following week, his
elder brother, who is also a civil servant, was asked to
report at the Office of Establishment.
"A panel was set up to investigate Mr. Tokunbo with the
younger brother (Mr. Tunde) mandated to chair the panel
an offer, which he turned down.
"Although the two of them were pencilled down for
sacking, that of the elder brother was put on hold to pave
the way for his investigation and interrogation by the
panel.
"Since his younger brother turned down the offer to chair
a panel raised to try Tokunbo, another person will be
appointed to perform the task and your guess is as good
as mine on the result that would come out of the panel."
When contacted on Monday, Fayose's Chief Press
Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said, "I'm hearing it (the
sacking) from you for the first time. I'm not aware of the
development."

Floyd Mayweather beats Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas

Floyd Mayweather emerged victorious from the most
lucrative fight in history, beating Manny Pacquiao via a
wide unanimous decision in Las Vegas.
American Mayweather, 38, delivered a defensive masterclass
against his Philippine rival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena,
making the necessary adjustments after only a few rounds
before disappearing out of sight.
Mayweather, who added the WBO welterweight title to the
WBC and WBA titles he already owned, was awarded the fight
118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 by the three judges.
With his victory, Mayweather also cemented his status as the
greatest pound-for-pound boxer of his generation.
The five-weight world champion is now undefeated in 48
professional fights, stretching back 19 years.
Six-weight world champion Pacquiao, who falls to 57 wins, six
losses and two draws, later blamed a shoulder injury for his
defeat.
The big fight in numbers
Revenue: Estimated $400m (£265m) in total.
Boxers: Mayweather and Pacquiao set to split about $230m
(£150m).
Tickets for the bout - billed as 'The Fight of the Century' -
changed hands for as much as $350,000 (£232,000) and
American fans were charged almost $100 (£66) to watch on
television, with millions more watching across the world.
Rival broadcasters Showtime and HBO joined forces for the
first time since Lennox Lewis fought Mike Tyson in 2002 to
show the fight, with Jimmy Lennon Jr and Michael Buffer
sharing ring announcer duties.
A-listers in the 16,507 crowd included actors Clint Eastwood
and Robert De Niro, singers Sting and Prince, and US tycoon
Donald Trump.
Multi Grammy Award winner Jamie Foxx sang the American
national anthem prior to the fighters entering the ring. So prized
was a seat that many celebrities were even sat behind the press
row.
Pacquiao, 36, began his ring walk at 20:45 Vegas time - to the
strains of a song he recorded especially for the occasion - and
was awarded a rapturous reception. Mayweather, on the other
hand, was roundly booed, despite being effectively the house
fighter.
The opening round was extremely cagey, with both men trying
to establish their distance, but Mayweather did land with a
couple of eye-catching right hands on the counter.
Not only did Mayweather look noticeably bigger than Pacquiao,
he also looked quicker in the early rounds.
And when Pacquiao did get close, Mayweather was content to
tie him up, to both Pacquiao and the fans' frustration.
Mayweather rocked Pacquiao with two more rights in the
second, although Pacquiao was able to get inside his rival's
superior reach and unleash a couple of flurries.
The third round was a more even affair, with Pacquiao able to
draw Mayweather into some exchanges and Mayweather doing
plenty of rough stuff on the inside.
Pacquiao really came into the fight in the fourth, staggering
Mayweather with a left hand, which many thought would be a
key weapon in this fight.
Mayweather was forced to cover up on the ropes and many of
Pacquiao's follow-up punches were caught on the arms and
gloves, but a smile from the American signalled he may have
been hurt.
Mayweather's head had cleared by the start of the fifth and he
proceeded to win the round courtesy of his trusty right cross,
with Pacquiao not applying enough pressure or displaying the
aggression many felt he needed.
Pacquiao rocked Mayweather again in the sixth, before
Mayweather got on his bike in the seventh, slipping and sliding
out of reach and frustrating Pacquiao as he looked to engage.
In the eighth it was Mayweather's left that did most of the
damage and although he did ship another sneaky left, by now it
was apparent that Pacquiao, naturally the smaller man, did not
have the necessary power.
It was more of the same in the ninth, during which there were
definite signs that Pacquiao was tiring and the fight was
beginning to get away from him.
By the 10th, Mayweather had made all the adjustments he
needed to make and continually made Pacquiao miss, like a
matador with an ailing bull, while doing enough on the counter
to win the round.
In the 11th, Pacquiao had gone from bull to mouse, getting
snapped on the nose time and time again by Mayweather's jab
as he tried to get inside.
Pacquiao's expected late rally did not transpire and the air of
resignation in the arena at the final bell told you everything you
needed to know - that Mayweather had won an intriguing rather
than thrilling fight with plenty to spare.
Reaction from BBC Radio 5 live team
"They said this was the biggest test of his career. How he
rose to the challenge. Floyd Mayweather endorses his status
as an all-time great" - commentator Mike Costello
"He has broken Manny Pacquiao's heart" - pundit Steve
Bunce
Listen: More reaction to the Las Vegas showdown
And while many observers who paid to watch would have been
disappointed with the action, the fact that Mayweather won so
handily was more proof of his unparalleled genius.
Pacquiao's pride will no doubt be salved when he next checks
his bank account - it is estimated the fight will generate $400m
(£265m) in total, with Mayweather and Pacquiao set to split in
the region of $230m (£150m).
Afterwards Mayweather confirmed he would fight one more
time in September before retiring, although the opportunity to
surpass Rocky Marciano's mark of 49 fights undefeated might
prove too tempting to pass up.
Amir Khan is on the list of possible opponents, as is fellow
Briton and IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Windows 10 release date and news

 Windows 10: at a glance
- Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10061 is available to
download free right now
- Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones is now
available
- It's rumoured Windows 10 will release in July
- Windows 10 is a free upgrade in the first year for all
Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users
- Confirmed features include Cortana, Microsoft Edge web
browser, universal app support, Xbox Live integration,
and DirectX 12. Tablets and HoloLens benefit from
Continuum and Windows Holographic features
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Windows 10 is coming this summer and Microsoft has steadily
been revealing details about what its upcoming OS will contain.
Here you can find out about the confirmed new features, how to
download the latest Technical Preview, and all the news
surrounding Windows 10’s price and release date. While Windows 10 development trundles on, it's clear
Microsoft has been holding back blazing new features for
unveiling at its Build conference taking place shortly, but what
can we expect from Microsoft's show?
Looking through the conference schedule there aren't any big
surprises. Sessions focus on Azure for Internet of Things
solutions, developing apps for Microsoft Band and Microsoft
Health, as well as Project Spartan development amongst a
whole host of other topics. As this is a developer conference,
don't expect much in the way of big reveals.
If it's surprises you're looking for, Microsoft's keynote
presentation today is the most likely place to find them. Talk will
revolve around Windows 10, hopefully announcing a release
window tigheter than Summer 2015, as well as more
information about Project Spartan and upcoming features for
Technical Preview users.
Going from the event invite PC Pro recieved, Microsoft is
planning on revealing more about Microsoft HoloLens -
presumably development features of Windows Holographic
instead of new features it contains. We could also hear more
about the Surface Pro 4, although it's unlikely Microsoft would
launch or announce a new hardware product at a developer
conference, its position as a flagship Windows 10 device could
be reason enough for Microsoft to put it on show.

Priest arrested for raping woman for 5 years in Delhi

Her abuse had been going on since then as he threatened her of
posting the alleged video clip on the internet.
A priest has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a
37-year-old married woman for the past five years in outer
Delhi's Rohini Sector 7 area, police said today.
The victim also alleged that the priest, identified as Rajesh
Pandey, video-recorded the act the first time around five years
ago and then repeatedly sexually assaulted her by threatening
her of leaking the video clip.
"The woman, who lives with her husband and their two children
at Rohini Sector 7, had approached Pandey who is a priest at a
nearby temple to seek solution to some of her domestic
problems. One day, Pandey took her to his residence on the
pretext of some ritual and allegedly raped her," said a senior
police official quoting the victim's complaint.
Her abuse had been going on since then as he threatened her of
posting the alleged video clip on the internet, he added.
Fed up with the years of abuse, the woman finally decided to
approach police and registered a complaint against him on
Thursday. The priest was subsequently arrested yesterday.
His mobile phones and some other gadgets have been seized by
the police and sent to FSL to retrieve the alleged video clip.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law
and investigation is underway, police said

Apple Watch doesn't work with tattoos.

Apple Watch, Apple's first smartwatch, has finally gone on sale
online and already it's hit a snag. Sorry, Hipsters you might
think your tattooed wrists are cool but they will break your
Apple Watch as Apple confirms the heart rate function of
thetechy timepiece will not work on some tattooed wrists.
Users on Reddit initially reported the error with darker-coloured
inks being the biggest cuprit behind the issue. Now Apple has
publicly acknowledged the problem by posting the following on
its support page:
“Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some
tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink,
pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the
sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings”
The Apple Watch uses light-sensitive photdiodes and fires
LEDs at the skin hundreds of times per secons to detect the
amount of blood flowing through your wrist. Natural dark skin
pigmentation doesn’t seem to affect it but the dark ink of a tattoo
does manage to obscure the LEDs. The same problem is present
on other smartwatches and fitness wearables that use the same
system technology.
This means bad news for the likes of Beckam and those who
followed in his fashionable footsteps by inking their arms in a
sleeve of tattoos. See, your mum was right all along.
